I had a wonderful stay at this hotel just outside one of the gates to the city - it was quiet but still close to all the city attractions. The rooms were very spacious and perfect for my family of 4, although they didn't quite match the photos online. Being near traditional pubs and restaurants was a big plus for us.

I couldn't have asked for a better stay. The hotel was full of character, with very little natural light in the room, and I'm already planning my next visit. The central location in the heart of York was a definite plus, even though noise at night was a downside due to loud groups passing by.
